Did you know you most likely already use corn-based ethanol in your vehicle?

E10 contains 10% ethanol and 90% regular gasoline. We typically just think about this fuel as traditional gasoline.

Unleaded 88, also known as E15, contains 15% ethanol and is typically marked with a blue handle at the pump. Any car model 2001 or newer can use E15. Flex-fuel vehicles can run on higher blends of ethanol, like E85. E85 pumps are usually labeled at gas stations with yellow nozzles.

Choosing higher ethanol blends at the pump provides a greener and cleaner environment.

What is ethanol?

Ethanol is a renewable, plant-based biofuel.

Ethanol is made in the United States from harvested field corn — unlike the sweet corn you enjoy fresh off the cob, canned or frozen.

Ethanol has a higher octane rating than regular unleaded fuel. It burns cleaner, improving air quality — all while being safe for your vehicle. Ethanol is proven on over 20 billion road miles and is approved for use in all model year 2001 and newer vehicles.
